Boreal Burst

Named after Boreas, the Greek god of the Cold North Wind and the Bringer of Winter, the boreal biome is home to some of the most extensive and intact ecosystems on our planet. The Canadian Boreal Forest (aka taiga) is located in the north and contains about one third of the world’s boreal forests.

The colour palette of this painting echoes my experiences in this powerful ecosystem.
