I’ve recently returned to felting and sculpting after a hiatus and am enjoying the process immensely. My first day felting again ‘felt’ SO much like coming home.
My sculptural works usually include felted wool, or felted wool embedded with other materials. Sometimes these materials are natural fibres: silk, flax, linen. Sometimes I embed wires, reflective metals or other man-made materials. I revel in the contrasts.
All of these installations explore my sense of connection/disconnection between the individual and society, human-made/natural things
… and how we all feel and respond to our beliefs around the dynamics of societal pressure.
Presently I am felting small containers for precious things.
The working title of this series is ‘Pods’ …
